COVID-19 update 13th November

A message from the chairman:

Hi everybody, I wanted to provide you with an update on the club’s current position and its approach to the challenges that Covid-19 has presented.

Over the last month we have spent time developing and testing a process for how we can safely carry out group rides whilst conforming to the guidance provided by our government. We have ensured this process supports the advice from British Cycling and Cycling UK, both of whom protect the club with public liability insurance.

Although the most recent restrictions prevent the club from reopening rides, we would like to use this time to build a plan for the future. We will post more detail in the coming weeks, but we know we are going to need member support and cooperation. We will need volunteers to come forward to help manage group sizes and collect track and trace information.

Finally, we acknowledge and are disappointed that we have been unable to provide our usual level of club activities during 2020, as a result we will be carrying over annual membership to cover 2021. Members who normally pay their subscription by standing order are asked not to cancel this with the bank. The membership secretary will contact those who over pay by email early in the new year.
